When visiting elderly people, friends and relatives spend so much time assisting with household chores that there’s little left for socialising. We help with housework, laundry and ironing so you can finally spend some quality time with those you care about.

Companionship

Isolation is dangerous in later life. Our friendly SupportGivers offer company and friendship to keep loneliness at bay, and are happy to engage in a wide range of leisure activities with elderly people. Anything from scrapbooking, to watching television, to helping with reading.

Shopping

Older people often have difficulty navigating supermarkets and high-streets. Our SupportGivers accompany older people on shopping trips, and can help by carrying bags, checking prices, and picking out groceries, clothes or birthday gifts. We’re also happy to shop on clients’ behalves.

Trips and Outings

Our SupportGivers arrange trips out and provide friendly companionship, wherever you’d like to go. We take older people to local museums, for walks in the park, or even just to visit the neighbours. If you have individual circumstances or disabilities, we’ll help find attractions best suited to your needs.

Loneliness can be dangerous in later life, and our SupportGivers are passionate about keeping older people happy, stimulated, and part of the community. This year alone, Age UK’s East Anglian partners have made over 250,000 visits to help service users live independently — giving them more opportunities to socialise and enjoy later life.

As a local charity, we offer a range of free and paid services to help older people in Norfolk stay happy and independent. 100% of the surplus made from our Home Support and Care service is invested into the vital free services we offer, so we can continue to help as many people as possible.

We have 65 years of experience and expertise in providing affordable care to older people and their families. Our team has earned a deep level of trust among clients and relatives, as well as the support of local health and social professionals.
